Queen Honours Fashion Names

A prolific booster of emerging British designers, Kennedy cultivated the early careers of designers including Jonathan Saunders, Richard Nicoll and Meadham Kirchhoff.

Also honoured with MBEs were shoe designer Emma Hope and Links of London and Annouschka founders John Ayton and Annoushka Ducas.

Barbara Hulanicki, founder of Biba and a designer of collections for Topshop, Habitat and George at Asda, was awarded an OBE for her services to the fashion industry. ‘I’m just absolutely thrilled. It’s thrilling for a Polish person to get an award like that from the Queen,’ Hulanicki told WWD.
