Versace for H&M to launch on 17 November

World, meet Versace for H&M. The Italian fashion brand’s collaboration with the Swedish high street giant will launch in 300 H&M stores and online on 17 November.

Referencing Versace’s history of exuberant prints, poppy colours and figure-hugging dresses, the collection includes dozens of pieces for women, men and home. Think chinoiserie-print leggings, studded leather dresses and riotous leopard- and sunset-printed skirts.

‘The collection for H&M is the essence of Versace,’ Donatella Versace said. ‘For the collaboration we’ve brought back from the archives as well as from more recent collections, some of the key icons of Versace, such as the bright prints, the Greek key and daring cuts. I can’t wait to see how H&M’s wide audience will make these pieces their own.’

H&M expects its Versace collection to reprise the success of previous designer projects. Last November, Lanvin’s tulle dresses and tailored menswear drew hundreds of shoppers to early-morning queues at H&M stores across the country. Collaborations with Stella McCartney, Viktor & Rolf, Roberto Cavalli, Jimmy Choo and Matthew Williamson have led shoppers to expect designer excitement at a high-street price point. For Versace for H&M, prices start at £19.99 for costume jewellery and rise to £199.99 for a man’s studded leather jacket.

‘Versace’s collection for H&M is a moment in fashion. It is full of strong pieces that stand out, with colours, prints and cuts that are clean and precise,’ H&M Creative Advisor Margareta van den Bosch said. ‘The women’s collection is flattering and full of dresses, while the men’s collection is very sophisticated. When I think about Versace I think of iconic items. With this collection for H&M we’ve got the essence of Versace.’
