The business news network will explore Campbells personal background, career in fashion and charitable efforts in the special programme, broadcasting this Wednesday, 28 September 2011.

CNBC cameras followed the supermodel to Streatham, her childhood home in South London, and traced Campbells relationships with mentors from Bob Marley to Nelson Mandela. (No word on whether they'll trace her relationships with diamonds, but that might be best left to the Hague...)

The half-hour documentary also delves into Campbells struggle to make her mark as a black model in a then largely white-dominated modelling industry. Her first magazine cover was ELLE UK, in April 1986.
