Forget Kimmy Schmidt, the return of Game of Thrones, or even Hiddleston’s bottom on The Night Manager – the greatest moment of TV this year has happened: our cover star Beyoncé launched her new visual album Lemonade on HBO last night.

Lemonade premiered at 9PM (US time) during an hour-long special on Saturday night on HBO. Then it dropped on to, you guessed it, Tidal (conveniently owned by her husband Jay-Z) for all to download.

If you were ever in any doubt of who slays the pop world – this just confirmed Bey's status as the Queen of the world.

Here’s absolutely everything you need to know...

1. Lemonade is a visual album

A visual what? Beyoncé would never be so basic as to drop a CD in to your local HMV. Instead the Queen of suprises released Lemonade, a 12 song album, as an hour long TV special. Bundles of her new tracks were divided in to chapters; ‘Intuition’ ‘Denial’, ‘Apathy’, ‘Emptiness’ and finally ‘Resurrection’ during the HBO show, all held together by a voiceover from Beyoncé reading words by Somali-British poet Warsan Shire.

2. There’s some fierce feminist cameos

Beyoncé doesn’t reign alone. For Lemonade she pulled together a sisterhood of strong black women to help her. They included; Serena Williams, actresses Quvenzhané Wallis, ELLE UK favourite Amandla Stenberg, and the actress and singer Zendaya. Blue Ivy also made a cameo. During the hour she sampled snippets from a speech by Malcom X which asserts; ‘The most disrespected person in America is the black woman. The most unprotected person in America is the black woman. The most neglected person in America is the black woman.’ - just to make clear who this record is for. They slay, ok?

3. It’s a new sound…

Entirely different to anything you'll have heard from Beyonce, the album includes collaborations with Jack White, James Blake, Kendrick Lamar and the Weeknd, with songs that move from rock anthems, New Orleans inspired jazz harmonies, electro piano solos, and even some country twangs. In short: It's everything.

4. Bey gets personal

Beyoncé is working out all her issues on Lemonade, as she sets the record straight on a few things. Primarily cheating, and husband Jay-Z. Walking down the street, smashing up cars with a baseball bat she sings; ‘They don't love you like I love you’ followed by, ‘I'm gonna fuck me up a b*tch’. Adding, ‘You ain't married to an average b*tch, boy!’ But by the end of the album she seems to have let it all go as she harmonises; ‘Me and my baby gonna be alright, we gonna live a good life’. Who doesn't enjoy a happy ending?

5. There are too many major Lemonade lewks

Beyoncé brought on Marni Senofonte, one of the stylists who worked on Formation, to curate the many fashion moments in Lemonade. She slays in her jeans and a tank, in her hoodie, in her Yeezy crop top, and in her flowing ruffled yellow dress... We want them all, obviously.

6. But you can only listen on Tidal

If you're yet to sign up to Tidal, you can enjoy a free month’s trial for the service and listen to Lemonade for zero cost. But be warned if you don't cancel it'll then cost £9.99, or £19.99 for the 'HiFi' version, a month.
