Famous women have long complained about the double standards that come with celebrity. When was the last time you saw a male Grammy winner being badgered with questions about his weight? The past week have been especially rife with examples. Here, proof that the body shaming struggle is still real.

Adele

Speaking yesterday on SiriusXM, Adele admitted, ‘I do have body image problems, for sure, but I don't let them ruin my life at all, and there's bigger issues going on in the world than how I might feel about myself.’ She went on to say: ‘There's only one of you, so why would you want to look like everyone else? Why would you want to have the same hairstyle as everybody else and have the same opinions as everybody else?’ Amen sister.

Claire Danes

In an interview just released by Allure magazine, the actor opened up: ‘I've wrestled with this my whole life. It's okay to want to look and feel your best. It's okay to work at being attractive, whatever that means to you. And it's also okay to not expect to be defined by that. It's okay to be powerful in every way: to be big, to take up space. To breathe and thrive.’

Ariel Winter

The painfully young 17-year-old Modern Family star spoke out against body shamers following a photograph she published on Instagram: ‘I typically never give power to the mean things people bravely say behind their computer screens on the Internet, but this is for the girls who are constantly bullied, whether it be online or at school. You are not asking for anything because of what you are wearing — you are expressing yourself, and don't you ever think you deserve the negativity as the consequence to what you are wearing.’

Magdalena Frackowiak

The Victoria's Secret model called out a reporter last week for implying that she was not eating to get in shape for the Fashion Show. She responded to his question by saying: 'What? No, guys, not with these kind of questions. This is stupid. Ask more smart questions. Not eating after the show. You make me look like an idiot. It seems like I’m starving myself, and I can’t wait for the show to end to eat.'

Khloe Kardashian

Speaking to her sister Kim on last week’s Keeping up With the Kardashian’s she explained her struggles with her newly celebrated image: 'Someone said to me the other day, “I looked at old pictures of you and you were so big," and I was like, "Why are you looking at old pictures of me?" Guys and girls say this to me. It's like a known thing how fat I was.'
