David Cameron didn’t do it. Nick Clegg did it. Ed Miliband did it. Now, Harriet Harman has done it – at Prime Minister’s Questions today, no less.
The Labour Deputy Leader and Shadow Culture Secretary wore our This Is What A Feminist Looks Like T-shirt on the front bench today - leading to our campaign making yet more news, with a debate on Daily Politics.
Harman alerted us to her intention this morning when she tweeted a picture of herself wearing our sell-out T, which was created in conjunction with Whistles and The Fawcett Society, with the caption: ‘This is what a feminist will look like at Prime Minister's Questions today @ELLEUK @fawcettsociety #ellefeminism’.
Current mood at ELLE HQ? Elated would be an understatement.
When we started the debate with our Rebranding Feminism issue last year, this is exactly what we wanted to do: put women’s issues front and centre in Parliament. And who better to do that for us than one of the UK’s most powerful politicians?
