If you could go back in time and talk to your younger self, what advice would you give her?

As part of the many celebratory events happening yesterday in honour of International Women's Day, YouTube launched its #DearMe campaign, encouraging prominent women to consider just that.

ELLE Editor-in-Chief, Lorraine Candy, took part in the global initiative aimed at inspiring and empowering young women to overcome the challenges they face every day - from self-esteem and body image issues, to bullying and intense social pressure.

At age 13, Lorraine was sat in a classroom at Liskeard School and Community College in Cornwall, and in the below video, she's in the London office of ELLE magazine, in her 10th year as Editor-in-Chief of the World's Biggest Selling Fashion Magazine, affirming her first piece of advice: 'Think big or stay in bed'.

Lorraine was joined in the 'From Your Older and Wiser Self' category by eighteen other influential women, including Hong Kong socialite and gay activist Gigi Chao, YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki, First Lady of New York City Chirlane McCray, Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito, First Lady Chirlane McCray, counsel to the mayor Maya Wiley, Governor Cuomo’s communications director Melissa DeRosa, and the Foreign Correspondent for The Sunday Times, Christina Lamb.

Other categories in the campaign also featured outspoken female figures, including American actress, comedian, and writer Felicia Day, alongside English-American broadcast journalist Laura Flanders and internet comedy creator Issa Rae - each lending their voices to the 'Imagine What You'd Do Differently' category. 'From The Guys' gave some candid male vloggers the opportunity to add their support to the initiative.

#DearMe was modelled after the 2010 #ItGetsBetter campaign that supported gay teens who were bullied and contemplating suicide, initiated by YouTube stars like entrepreneurial beauty expert Michelle Phan, who has a large online following of young women.
