UPDATE: Is this the proof that Kate Middleton is definitely having a baby girl? Bookmakers William Hill have slashed the odds on the second Royal baby being called Alice from 14-1 to 4-1.

After Alice, the most popular name is Elizabeth (fancy that!) at odds of 9-2, followed by Charlotte at 11-2, Victoria at 12-1, Alexandra at 14-1, Diana at 16-1, and the boys names Arthur, Henry and James all at 20-1.

The Duchess of Cambridge held her last public engagements on Friday and will not be seen again officially until she leaves hospital with her second child. Watch this space.

It's the news we've all been waiting for: Prince George is going to be a big brother.

Clarence House confirmed this morning that the Duchess of Cambridge is pregnant with her second child.

'Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting their second child,' ran the official statement.

'The Queen and members of both families are delighted with the news.

'As with her first pregnancy, The Duchess is suffering from Hyperemesis Gravidarum. Her Royal Highness will no longer accompany The Duke of Cambridge on their planned engagement in Oxford today.

'The Duchess of Cambridge is being treated by doctors at Kensington Palace.'

Kate might not have been up to it, but the Prince did fulfill his duty - and was happy to discuss his big news.

When asked about his wife, he responded: 'She's feeling OK, thanks. It's been a tricky few days, a week or so. But basically we are thrilled. It's great news - early days.

'We are hoping things just settle down and she feels better.

'I'm going to go and look after her now.'

Prime Minister David Cameron was first to offer his congratulations to the couple, saying he was 'delighted by the the happy news that they're expecting another baby'.
