Kesha has been in the spotlight a lot over the last few months, so it's nice to her making headlines for something other than her court case with label Sony.
Speaking of the 29-year-old singer, presenter Stephen Wrabel said: 'Kesha's words are written on her heart and her heart is pinned to her sleeve' and through her music 'she offers a safe space where you can be who you are and you can love every part of yourself.'
Kesha has, over many years, spoken out in support of the LGBT community and she took this opportunity to get on the podium and say a few more rallying words on behalf of people who feel different all over the world.
She opened with a retrospective comment about her career, saying: 'I always wanted a travelling cult of misfits that make people feel good.'
Kesha also thanked everyone for the support she's received over the past few months with regards to her trial.
Speaking of her connection to LGBT groups, the singer said: 'I was a very odd little girl with homemade clothes and an inability to fit in. My mom taught me to love everyone and everything. She taught me, not only are we all equal, but that we are no different from any other animal, so we should love all living things.'
She ended her speech on this note:
'My message to you today is don't be afraid to speak up against any injustice you experience. Don't let people scare you and shame you into changing the things about yourself that make you unique. Those are the qualities that will make your life magical and special.'
