Overnight, pictures of the new iPhone were leaked onto a Chinese social media site. The photographs revealed what appears to be the new Apple handsets, in a brand new rosy hue.

Yes, the new iPhone is pink.

Now these pictures could easily have been faked, and to be blunt I’m really hoping they are, and this is all a horrible misunderstanding.

You see, whilst I very much enjoy the colour pink, I (like everyone else and their fashion dogs) loved that Jil Sander pink coat from autumn/winter 2012. And I 100% want everything Prada pink this season.

BUT what I do not need is a phone to match a shade of lip gloss.

I want a phone that loads Instagram quickly, and stores reels of Whatsapp messages in a handset that is slick and cool.

In short: I’d like an iPhone that has good technology, and zero gender stereotyping.

Colour aside, there’s rumoured to be some new fancy functions coming too, including the launch of Force Touch, which would make the touchscreen force sensitive. My SnapChat drawing canvas eagerly awaits.

It’s expected that the new iPhone will be unveiled September 18, just please Apple don’t make it pink.
