Update: Nicki Minaj's discussion about her VMA snub now involves Taylor Swift.

Minaj tweeted more about "Feeling Myself" and "Anaconda" not getting slots, provoking Tay (whose "Bad Blood" video is nominated) to respond pretty publicly:

Nicki had this response:

And Taylor offered as sweet a consolation as she could (for now):

On Tuesday, MTV announced the nominations for the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards, but one person is less than pleased: Nicki Minaj. While her "Anaconda" video did receive nods in the Best Female Video and Best Hip Hop Video categories, it didn't get one in the Video of the Year category. This didn't sit well with Nicki, who took to Twitter to write about what made the video iconic almost instantly. "If I was a different 'kind' of artist, 'Anaconda' would be nominated for best choreo and vid of the year as well," she wrote, following it up with some sarcastic grinning smiley emojis. "When the 'other' girls drop a video that breaks records and impacts culture they get that nomination."

She also retweeted fans who were similarly perplexed, including one who used the photos of that Helsinki cathedral covered in Nicki's butt as evidence that the video has become a worldwide phenomenon. On Instagram, Nicki shared a picture of a girl standing in front of an "Anaconda" shower curtain as another, highly covetable example of the video's impact. (Seriously, where does one buy that?)

Nicki also wondered why "Feeling Myself" didn't receive any nominations, though the fact that it never became available outside of Tidal may have had something to do with it continuing to fly under the radar. Either way, a piece of art that shows Beyoncé and Nicki eating cheeseburgers and hanging out on pool floats deserves some love. And in 200 years, when our alien overlords are trying to figure out what #SquadGoals means, they will look at that video and be like, "Oh, yes. We get it now."
