We were just about getting over the announcement about Lady Gaga joining the cast of American Horror Story when we received news that she will be going head to head with none other than Naomi Campbell.

Naomi will join AHS in its fifth season: Hotel, and will play the role of a fashion editor, while Gaga’s character is yet to be confirmed.

In anticipation, we’ve rounded up some of our favourite cameo appearances:

Naomi Campbell, Empire

Whilst we’re on the subject of Naomi Campbell, her role as Camilla in Empire is well worth a nod. Whether it was her hilarious showdowns with Cookie or verging on creepy moments with Hakeem, she certainly brought something different to the show.

Kim Kardashian, 2 Broke Girls

Kim did what she does best and played herself in the US comedy series. Kim's most memorable line from the scene? ‘This is super awkward’. Not a huge departure from Kim IRL but certainly a memorable cameo.

Prince, New Girl

Prince is as weird and wonderful as ever as he plays ping-pong and makes pancakes with Jess before offering her relationship advice in New Girl. The episode ends with them duetting on Prince’s new song which he then released with Zooey Deschanel’s vocals.

Britney Spears, How I Met Your Mother

Britney, like you’ve never seen her before. She played Abby, a secretary who falls in love with Ted and then Barney. HIMYM’s writers actually credited Britney with helping boost ratings and stopping the show from getting cancelled. Nice work, b*tch!

Victoria Beckham, Ugly Betty

Complete with the bleach blonde ‘pob’, Victoria Beckham played herself as Wilhelmina’s limelight-hogging maid of honour in 2007. As if Victoria Beckham wasn’t enough, Vera Wang also stars in the episode.

Bruce Willis, Friends

Bruce Willis starred in three episodes of season six of Friends, as Paul, Rachel’s love interest and the Dad of Elizabeth, Ross’s girlfriend. He also hated Ross. Remember? Of course you can. Who can forget him gently sobbing into Jennifer Aniston’s lap? TV gold.

Brad Pitt, Friends

Friends can definitely boast some of the best cameos in television history. Brad Pitt deserve a notable mention for playing Will, Monica’s formerly-fat friend who now, well, looks like Brad Pitt. Married at the time to Jennifer Aniston, he hates Rachel and confesses that he and Ross had an ‘I hate Rachel club’.

Geri Halliwell, Sex and the City

Props to Geri for making an appearance in SATC wearing only a bikini top and a ra-ra skirt. Geri clearly draws from all of her Spice World acting experience in this most classic of cameos.
