Cast your mind back to the noughties; it's the first phase of internet celebrity, and a blonde socialite becomes an overnight sensation thanks to a reality TV show.
Paris Hilton wrote the book on being a star in the digital age. Then her lesser known, darker-haired former bestie Kim Kardashian followed the formula, roped in her entire family, hopped on the crest of the social media wave and blew her out of the water.
Paris has lain low for a while, but today's, ahem, Parisian outing - carefully coordinated with sister Nicky - feels very much like a statement of intent from the Hilton camp.
What that intent may be, we're not sure.
