Reese Witherspoon wasn’t telling reporters who her dress was by at this year’s Oscars. Why? She wanted them to #AskHerMore.

That’s right; the Oscar nominee posted her support of a new social media campaign ahead of the ceremony, imploring journalists to ask actresses the same in-depth, role-related questions they would male actors. 

Never mind the talents of the accomplished actresses, the concern is that the focus of red carpet reporters remains - reductively - on the dress.

Reese posted an image on Instagram prior to the ceremony with the caption: ‘❤ this movement #AskHerMore..have you heard of it? It's meant to inspire reporters to ask creative questions on the red carpet. I love the Oscars AND fashion like many of you - & am excited to share #WhoAmIWearing later tonight.
