Today, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, son Prince George and 21 of their closest family members and friends gathered together for the christening of baby Princess Charlotte.

There has been much speculation about who would be Princess Charlotte's Godparents and who'd attend the ceremony (here's what we knew before the event)

But here's everything that actually happened on the day:

1. The Christening Was Held At St Mary Magdalene Church

The christening was held at at the church in Sandringham (near one of the Queen’s many houses) and is the same place where Princess Charlotte's late grandmother Diana was also christened.

2. 22 Guests Attended

The Cambridges, the Queen, Philip, Charles, Camilla, the Middletons and the five godparents - William's cousin Laura Fellowes, Kate's cousin Adam Middleton and friends Thomas van Straubenzee, Sophie Carter and James Meade - four of whom were accompanied by their spouses. Prince George's nanny Maria Borallo also attended, but was not an official guest.

3. Princess Charlotte Wore

The handmade replica of the royal christening robe, made by Angela Kelly, dressmaker to The Queen.

4. While Mum Kate And The Queen Wore

The Queen wore a rose coloured jacquard wool coat with matching floral silk dress, while Kate wore an Alexander McQueen dress coat and matching hat by Jane Taylor. Also her sister Pippa wore a lovely hat by Jane Taylor.

5. And Her Brother Wore

According to rumours on Twitter, Prince George was dressed in an old outfit that the Duke of Cambridge once wore as a child. He looked adorable.

6. The Order Of Service Was...

Two hymns: Praise to the Lord, The Almighty and Come Down, O Love Divine.

The lesson: Matthew 18, verses 1-5, read by James Meade.

The anthems: I Will Sing With The Spirit and God Be In My Head, both by John Rutter.

Organ music: R. Vaughan Williams' Prelude on 'Rhosymedre'.

7. All Flowers Were Given To Charity

All flowers brought to the ceremony were given to East Anglia Children's Hospices, and delivered throughout the region.
