Sex and the City fans rejoice: Sarah Jessica Parker really is making a return to the HBO small screen - albeit not in the way we'd perhaps hoped.

Instead of a SATC reprisal, Deadline has confirmed that SJP is 'poised' star in an upcoming new comedy series called Divorce, for which she's also expected to serve as executive producer.

The half-hour episodes are being written by British writer-actress Sharon Horgan, and producer Paul Simms, who worked with Lena Dunham on Girls, is also said to be involved.

It's the actress's first high-profile TV role since SATC came to an end a decade ago and, although further details - including an air date - are still under wraps, Divorce is also expected to be filmed in New York City.

Get. Excited.
