Update 8/27: The first poster for The Danish Girl, starring Eddie Redmayne and Alicia Vikander, is here. The film, which premieres in November, tells the story of transgender pioneer Lili Elbe.

And, as a bonus, here's a look at the equally gorgeous U.K. poster:

Original Post 2/27: Only days after nabbing an Oscar for playing Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything, Eddie Redmayne is already garnering major buzz for another highly-anticipated new project. In the upcoming film The Danish Girl, which is based on a true story, Redmayne plays transgender pioneer Einar Wegener, a painter in the 1920s who transitioned into a woman named Lili Elbe. Universal Pictures has just released the first photo of Redmayne as Elbe:

Coincidentally, Redmayne is reportedly working with the same acting and movement coach who advised him on The Theory of Everything. Needless to say, we're looking forward to learning more about the film, which is directed by Tom Hooper and also stars Alicia Vikander, and is due to be released in 2016.
