A brand new web series about the love lives of transgender women is on it's way, and it's something you definitely haven't seen before.

Transgender-visibility is definitely growing, with stars like Caitlyn Jenner in her reality show 'I Am Cait', Laverne Cox from 'Orange Is The New Black', and Eddie Redmayne in the hotly anticipated film 'The Danish Girl' proudly leading the way. But now, 'Her Story' is set to give an honest and gritty insight into the romantic lives of trans characters.

Eva Ensler, the author behind the Vagina Monologues, is executive producer of the series, and has said that the show could be ‘the new rad-fem soap opera’, and we can’t wait.

Following the lives of Violet and Paige, two trans women in LA who haven’t been lucky in love, 'Her Story' promises to give us an insight into the lives of women who are 'too often are made invisible', wrote Eva in the Guardian.

She added: 'This series is so real, specific and intense – and, I hope, a model for future television programmes – because it is the first show made by a collective of trans and queer writers, actors, directors, producers, camera people and musicians, who created it independently and funded it on a shoestring.'

The show is created by a predominatnly LGBTQ cast and crew, which is pretty crucial, according to Eva. 'If there isn’t a trans person in every area of production, in the places where decisions are made, something is going to go awry,' she said. ‘There simply isn’t enough familiarity with our experiences for people not to have blind spots.'

'Her Story' will air online in October. Watch the official trailer for the series here:
