Award-winning writer and editor, American expat, mum-of-one and matcha tea addict, Kenya Hunt joins team ELLE as Fashion Features Director. A Jane magazine alumni (a much-loved, but now defunct American fashion title), Kenya's career tragectory also spans Global Style Director of Metro International newspapaers, editor in chief of ModMods and contributions to Vogue.it and The Gaurdian. Kenya's claimed the title of 'office style crush', ever since she strode through the doors with her Mansur Gavriel bucket bag, seemingly endless stash of statement skirts and ability to survive the whole day in heels. Alongside her career and style credentials, here are five must-know facts about team ELLE’s newest recruit.

1. Earliest Intern Memory

Fan-girling over Lynn Yaeger. Like, majorly hard. I interned for this amazing senior editor, Elizabeth Zimmer, of the Village Voice, back when Lynn Yaeger was the fashion editor there. I was quietly so obsessed with Lynn and her office bestie Michael Musto. I was this girl from a small town in Virginia where fashionable for most people meant a new dress from Ann Taylor. So, to see Lynn breezing by in Comme des Garçons, with her flaming red bob was almost too much for my little eyes. They epitomised New York to me. Incredibly smart and bold, with a go-to-hell sense of personal style, I would come up with any excuse imaginable to do a slow walk past her desk.

2. Career High

I've worked on a lot of fun projects, but to date,it's still creating the Karl Lagerfeld guest edited issue of Metro. Simply because I had the opportunity to meet with him on so many occasions throughout the project, not to mention spending a full day with him and his amazing team in our Paris newsroom. Karl even distributed the papers on the street. He's an icon and infinitely quotable, therefore a journalist's dream interview subject. This will forever be a moment I blab about at dinner parties.

3. Number One Writing Tip

I often try to remind myself of the advice Cathy Horyn once gave in an interview: 'You just have to say what you think.'

4. Style Mantra

I love the Diana Vreeland quote: 'Too much good taste can be boring.'

5. Hidden Talent

Growing up, I was an aspiring dancer. I studied ballet and Horton technique quite seriously. But I've also always loved to just cut up in a club. Dancing is basically my Crossfit.
