Fashion month hasn’t even drawn to a close yet and we’re already talking about February’s shows thanks to . The designer announced last week that he’s planning to unveil his next collection in L.A rather than London. Cue cries of disappointment from fashion insiders – and not just because he offers up the most comfortable seating of LFW.
In fact it’s a canny move on Ford’s part as, thanks to a date shift in February’s fashion month schedule, London Fashion Week will overlap with the Oscars. By moving his catwalk across the Atlantic he can multi-task, unveiling next autumn’s offerings before popping round to fit starlets into their red carpet gowns.
And there’s good news too. He told WWD today that, ‘I love London, and I am not abandoning London Fashion Week. It’s a onetime thing, it made sense for me, and I plan to be back in September.’
