We're halfway through the day and the studio is full. Full of ghd stylists, members of team ELLE, the photographer and team and hundreds of ELLE readers. Since we are creating real images for the magazine we need to keep as controlled a set as possible, which means the queue is still going strong while we let people in in waves. Thankfully it's a beautiful day in Shoreditch where the studio so the wait isn't too bad. And it's worth it!

Once inside there is a chance to get nail art manis, print out selfies with the #TheLiveShoot hashtag, and pick up an amazing goody bag. As well as watching the photographic process of course. We're stalling a little bit on our third shot. This kind of hiccup always happens in real life; there are a lot of creative people involved in making one image so ideas are bounced around and sometimes there is an element of trial and error. Our model Romy looks incredible with her poker straight 70's esque hair created by ghd UK Ambassador Kenna. The makeup looks a bit strong under the photographer lights so we take it all off and start again. It's not uncommon in beauty shoots, we're a bunch of perfectionists!

Check back at 15.00 for our next live update.
