Lindsay Lohan's role at Emanuel Ungaro has been controversial from the start - and now it could be all over.

The appointment of the actress as artistic designer to the fashion house last season divided the fashion world and contributed to the departure of then designer Esteban Cortezar. In September the first collection that she consulted on met with a less-than-rapturous response from the press, and rumour has it that buyers were even less impressed.

Now whispers are flying that the two men at the head of the company are battling over whether Lohan should stay or go. Rumours suggest that chairmain Asim Abdullah would like to remove Lindsay from her post sooner rather than later as the move seems to have back-fired. While CEO Mounir Moufarrige, who was responsible for bringing Lohan on board in the first place, wants her to remain.

While Lindsay's future at Ungaro hangs in the balance, one thing seems to be certain - the Spring 2010 collection is unlikely to be flying off the shelves.

And we thought Pirelli calendars were all about baby oil and tyres…? The distinctly stylish and elegant figures of Daisy Lowe, Lily Cole, Catherine McNeil and Marloes Horst were last night celebrating the 2010 calendar launch at the Intercontinental hotel in London looking not one bit like pin-ups on a garage wall. What’s this? A new direction for Pirelli? With artfully posed pictures tastefully celebrating the female figure? Errr, no. Having seen shots from photographer Terry Richardson’s (and there’s your clue) shoot with Daisy, Lily, Rosie Huntingdon-Whiteley and Miranda Kerr, we can confirm that yes, Pirelli is all about baby oil and tyres.

Agyness, Alexa and Jessica step out in style to watch 'New Moon'.

Any pretence that the Twilight movies are only watched by teenagers is well and truly over. If the pictures of mums screaming for Robert Pattinson alongside their young daughters this week weren't enough to convince you then just look at the stylish stars who turned out last night in New York to get a sneak peek of the latest movie instalment, 'The New Moon'.

Decidedly grown-up supermodels Jessica Stam and Agness Deyn and presenter Alexa Chung all hit the red carpet - and all chanelled gothic look that was not only inspired by the film but also happens to be right on trend. Jessica wowed in an incredible grey, high-necked ribbon dress and peep-toe, towering heels; Agy teamed her sheer lace blouse with a ruffled silk skirt, glossy leggings and, our favourite finishing touch, short leather gloves; and we're itching to get our hands on the leopard print bucket bag that Alexa teamed with her navy prom dress.

So now that the movie has recieved this sartorial seal of approval, we may have to queue up tonight to watch it. Purely for fashion inspiration you understand. Nothing to with Robert Pattinson at all.

Following a London fashion week that saw Matthew Williamson, Burberry and Pringle return to the capital after showing elsewhere, Giles Deacon has announced that he will continue to show his ready-to-wear collection in Paris having moved his catwalk show there from London in October. Deacon was a firm supporter of London fashion week since launching his label here in 2004. He was committed to showing on home soil at a time when other big names like Williamson, Jonathan Saunders and Stella McCartney went abroad. His decision to leave for Paris, however, came as the tables were turning and designers were queuing up to show in London to mark its 25th anniversary. His departure did nothing to dent October’s event but in a blow to London Fashion Week’s revival, Deacon has revealed that his spring summer 2010 collection’s sales rose 42% following his Paris launch – laying bare the business potential of showing in France. We only hope that Brit designers don’t follow suit. London’s February event is set to be even better than the last...

The actress has signed up to be the face of the label's Spring 2010 jeans campaign.

When this season's ad images for Calvin Klein Jeans (pictured) hit billboards across the globe they caused quite a stir. Featuring gorgeous actress Eva Mendes and model Jamie Dornan soaked with water and in various steamy embraces, they brought traffic to a standstill and caused some residents in New York to call for their removal. But they obviously did the trick - the duo have been bought back for a re-run.

Word has reached us that both Mendes and Dornan have been signed up once more to be the face of next season's denim camapign and will be shot by renowned photography Steven Klein. Apparently the ads will also introduce a new product - Calvin Klein Jeans Body Whitewashed.

No word yet on whether the pair will also be reprising their roles as the faces of the brands Underwear campaign - we can but hope...

He is already regarded as one of the world's legendary fashion designers and now Valentino may be able to add 'Oscar winner' to his CV.

'Valentino: The Last Emperor', the film about his life and work, has been shortlisted for the awards in the Best Documentary category. Of course, strictly speaking it would be the director of the film, Matt Tyrnauer, who would receive the accolade, but we like to think that he'd take the Italian designer on stage with him.

The film is contending with 14 other works and is the only one about fashion - others in the category include 'The Cove' (that's the one about preserving dolphins) and 'Mugabe and the White African'. Frankly, after watching all the heavyweight offerings we suspect that the judges will be grateful for something a little more upbeat. And as Valentino has dressed a large number of the judging panel for the red carpet, we think the film is in with a good chance of winning.

As if the imminent arrival of Christmas wasn't enough, tomorrow sees the launch of Lanvin's second collaboration with Swedish jeans label Acne- and we know which event has us the most excited.

Alber Elbaz, chief designer at Lanvin and all round fashion genius has created a collection to work across both men's and women's wardrobes- all entirely made from denim. Last year's Lanvin for Acne collaboration was an instant sell-out and this year's light-weight denim and draping is sure to be as popular.

The various shades of faded denim combined with classic Lanvin tailoring makes the pieces lust-worhty rather than a denim-on-denim 80s disaster. Cropped jackets and sleeveless blouses create an altogether feminine, silhouette-enhancing collection while the one-shoulder silk blouses seen on Lanvin's S/S10 catwalk are reflected in the one-shoulder dresses and gathered skirts. We predict the collection to sell out quicker than last year so get ready for tomorrow's launch.

Head to www.lanvin.com from 21st November.

Daisy Lowe, Pixie Geldof and Amber Le Bon took to the catwalk last night in the name of charity.

The bright young things were joined by Stella Tennant, Charlotte Dellal (and her mum Andrea) and Jade Parfitt at the event to raise money for Women For Women International, a charity that raises money to help women in war-torn countries re-build their lives.

The catwalk show was organised by the Canadian High Commissioner and favourite London boutique Browns. Naturally, as the chic store was on board, a whole host of London's coolest designers had pieces on show and Mark Fast and Erdem Moralioglu had been brought along to the event by our fashion hero Mrs Joan Burstein.

After the show guests were treated to a silent auction of one-off pieces. The highest earner? A Temperley dress that raised £5500.

Last night Prada's glossy coffee table book had its London launch.

Miuccia Prada herself has masterminded the 738-page tome alongside the label's CEO, Patrizio Bertelli. The book takes a look at the Italian fashion brand's 30 year history, from the clothes (of course) and beauty products to its use of pioneering architecture and celebrity fans. If you ever wondered what makes a fashion house tick then this book will tell you, and with lots of glossy pictures to look at along the way.

Last night at Prada's Bond Street store Christopher Kane, Bianca Jagger, Lulu Kennedy and Yasmin Sewell were just some of the dedicated followers of fahsion who turned out to mark the British launch of the book. Want to get you hands on it? It's on sale now in Prada stores, and it's also available from www.prada.com. Happy reading!

The Brits are fascinated with all things Victoria’s Secret. Pictures of near-naked lovelies parading down glitter-strewn catwalks fill our magazines.

Its models and their figures become household names (How quickly did Heidi Klum snap back in to shape? Is Rosie Huntington-Whiteley busty enough to be a VS girl? Baby girl for Adriana Lima! Will Alessandra do another Next campaign?). Men’s mags aside, it’s an odd crush for women to have – especially when the label isn’t even stocked in the UK. Well according to reports, that’s set to change as the all-american brand have expressed interest in setting up shop in London.

Limited Brands, owner of Victoria’s Secret, are looking at locations on Regent Street to launch themselves in to the European market in 2011 – supported by a next-day delivery website. So expect bus-loads of tanned, lithe Victoria girls parading through west London at the launch, fuelling our desire for brightly coloured thongs.

We’ll certainly be there to see the show.
