With finances at the forefront of most people's minds, spending more on your clothes this season might not make sense, but forget sprees. Shopping now should be about carefully thought out purchases of Forever Pieces, future heirlooms, that you can wear over and over regardless of trends or seasons. Pieces that will stand the test of time and basically bring you a super low SPW (spend per wear). These pieces may seem tricky to find on the high street but the key is to look for good quality fabrics like Cos' cotton blazer and Jigsaw's leather bag and hand finishing like Whistles' origami appliquéd silk blouse. Also, keep things simple. Clean-cut lines and classic colours, which will go with everything, are key. And don't forget to look to diffusion lines or niche designers such as Kenneth Jay Lane for jewellery and D&G for quality pieces to fit your budget.
