Cut out the trek between stores by heading to one of the vintage fashion fairs that alternate between Kensington and Hammersmith every five weeks. Dealers and collectors from all over the country assemble under one roof peddling everything from sixties shifts and cocktail rings to Victorian lace and elegant compacts. These fairs are worth a visit, not simply because of the hours of rummaging fun that they offer, but also because the prices are much more competitive than your average vintage store which means you’re much more likely to track down a fabulous one off at a bargain price.
