Finally, Facebook is no longer the go-to place to wallow in your emotions and hate-stalk your ex. Because now, the social media site wants you to move on, and not just through all of their tagged photos.

Facebook has just introduced a new handy feature designed to make breaking up a little easier. If you and your now-ex-significant other are Facebook official (with tagged names and EVERYTHING. Romance), you'll notice some new options popping up when you decide to change you relationship status to 'single' - or the dreaded 'it's complicated'.

Hit the update relationship status, and Facebook will offer you some options to see less of your ex, allowing you to easily limit where you see him or her on your Newsfeed. You can also choose to hide your future posts from your ex, so they won't be forced to see photo and status evidence of your fun new life.

But the really handy feature is the 'edit who can see past posts' bit, which finally offers a tiny solution to the 'am I supposed to delete all our cutesy photos together now we're over?' dilemma. With a couple of clicks, you can make all your tagged photos and posts together private, or untag yourself from all of them.

Now that, my friend, is what we call closure.

Bonus: your ex won't be alerted to any of these changes, so you can pretend you're totally unphased by his or her social media presence while you're hiding EVERYTHING. They also won't be popping up in that annoying 'On This Day' thing. HOORAY.

The new breakup healer is only being rolled out in the US at the moment, but if all goes well it should be available worldwide soon.

Now all we need is a tool that will safe-guard us from ever accidentally posting their name as a status instead of typing it in the search bar. And a pop-up to tell us 'you've been at this for three hours, maybe take a break from going through everything they've ever posted?' OOH and a tagged photos feature that confirms or denies if the girl they've got their arm around is their new girlfriend. We can dream.
