Adopted London label Marques'Almeida has scooped the second annual LVMH Prize, which recognises up-and-coming fashion talent on the global stage.

Its Portuguese design duo Marta Marques and Paulo Almeida beat off stiff competition from seven other finalists (including fellow Brit labels Craig Green and Faustine Steinmetz) to win the approval of a power-packed jury, which included Karl Lagerfeld, Marc Jacobs, Nicolas Ghesquière, Raf Simons, Phoebe Philo and Riccardo Tisci, to name but a few.

They were awarded their trophy by Natalie Portman, the face of Miss Dior perfume, today at the Louis Vuitton Foundation in Paris.

Hardware aside, they will also receive a grant of 300,000 euros and, perhaps most pertinently, a year of coaching from executives at LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton - the prize's main sponsor.

Congrats!
