Step-by-step: ‘Start by blow-drying the hair using Moroccanoil Treatment, £30.45 (HQhair.com ), to smooth the texture and make the hair easier to style. It also helps to protect the hair when using heat styling tools. Then, using a half inch curling wand, take two inch sections of the hair to create soft curls. Work from the back to the top of the head first, then on the sides. Depending on where the part is, direct the flow of the hair from there. Let the hair set (read: cool down) for about 30 minutes to lock in the curl. Then work a small amount of Moroccanoil Hydrating Styling Cream, £22.85 (HQhair.com ), through the curls for soft hold, body and shine. Comb through lightly. Finish off the look with Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray, £16.65 (HQhair.com ), for a natural-looking hold that allows plenty of movement.’

Step-by-step: ‘Begin by applying Fekkai Bouffant Lifting and Texturizing Spray Gel, £17 (spacenk.co.uk
), to the roots of the hair to build texture. Then apply Fekkai Oceanique Tousled Wave Spray, £17 (spacenk.co.uk
), throughout the rest of the hair and rough dry it to create a beachy and textured base for the up-do. Next take random pieces and start adding in plaits, fishtail braids and twists throughout the hair in various sizes, leaving the very top of the hair loose. Take all of the hair except for the loose hair at the top, knotting and twisting it to create an up-do – pin in place to create a very undone look. To finish, backcomb the front of the hair to add volume, then push it back and pin in place. Mist with Fekkai Sheer Hold Hairspray, £20 (spacenk.co.uk
).

Step-by-Step: ‘If you want this look ask for a heavy fringe, cut slightly rounded but not too wide – making sure your hairdresser blends the fringe with the rest of the hair. This is what makes it modern and sixties-esque as opposed to school girl. To style it, apply Bumble and Bumble Thickening Spray, £20.50 (lookfantastic.com ), and rough dry the hair 90%. Blow dry the fringe forward using a small round brush, slightly rounding the ends. Then with a larger round brush, blow dry the hair but without too much effort, curling the ends under. Finally, blast the hair and finish with a little Wella Professional Finish Stay Essential Finishing Spray, £11.50 (feelunique.com ), and some Baptiste Dry Shampoo, £7.50 (cultbeauty.co.uk ), for guts.

Step-by-Step: ‘Wash you hair with Pantene Pro-V Coloured Hair Protect and Volume Shampoo and Conditioner, £4.69 each (boots.com ) then section the hair into back, sides, and a V-shaped fringe section (wide at the front of the hairline and deep to the crown) and blow dry. With a medium size curling iron, roll the sides and back down and under (for extra hold mist each curl set with fine hairspray before tonging). Pin and cool. For the V section, curl the hair forward and under. Once the hair is cooled, brush the sides and back out with a mixed bristle brush. Brush the V section forward, backbrush to give volume smooth the top, roll under and pin into place. Note - if you aren't confident free-forming the roll in the fringe, you can buy a chignon roll which you can wrap the hair around (available at Boots ). Gently brush and smooth the rest of the hair and, once you’re pleased with the style, lightly mist with hairspray.'

Step-by-Step: ‘Start by adding a beachy, rough texture to the hair. I usually apply Wella Thermal Image Heat Protection Spray, £8.45 (feelunique.com) , then crimp the hair. Next, apply some sea salt spray to the hair and some dry shampoo for added texture. Take the sides back and pin into an almost low pony-like shape using only pins. Once secure, pull the hair up and twist it into the back leaving it loose and pretty. Finally, frame the face with the fringe leaving loose tendrils for romance’.

Step-by-Step: ‘Start by using Kérastase Resistance Volumactive Volume Expansion Spray, £15.25 (feelunique.com ), on dry hair, then use the hairdryer to achieve a voluminous dry texture. Next, use a soft bristle brush to smooth the hair. Create a side part and, using a curling tong on small sections, add in curls all over. Make sure not to tong the hair too close to the roots or the ends - this will ensure a more natural-looking curl. Next, brush the hair again and spritz Klorane dry shampoo, £7.50 (johnlewis.com ), all over. Next place a beaded hair band wherever you want it to sit (ASOS.com has a good selection) and twist the back of the hair into a soft bun, pinning it with volume to resemble a bob. Keep a few waves out near the front for a soft, youthful look.’
