The A-listers know if they want to get ahead on the red carpet they need to be able to work a hair accessory effortlessly. Hair decoration is big news for spring / summer (thanks to Chanel, Bottega Veneta and Marc Jacobs by Marc Jacobs) and it is the easiest way to add interest to your look.
First up, Margherita Missoni and Emily Blunt, they have opted for oversize hair bands for a real statement. You can make Margherita’s hair band by wrapping a headscarf around your hair and pinning vintage brooches on the side. At the other end of the accessories spectrum, Scarlett and Ashley O have gone for discreet, jewelled clips to enhance their romantically dishevelled updos. If you want a middle ground, channel January and Diane with a pretty Alice band to enhance a loose updo (keep the bun at the nape of the neck to get the look just so).
