This week we have seen three award ceremonies take place: The Baftas, Grammys and the ELLE Style Awards, with two key make-up looks reigning supreme - red and pink lips. At The Grammys Katy Perry , Kelly Osbourne , Rihanna and Taylor Swift all pitched up with lips in varying shades of pink. Katy Perry (who’s not afraid of colour) chose a neon while Kelly went for a pastel neon. Rihanna opted for a barely-there pink and Taylor Swift went for a natural rose hue that was beautifully understated.

In London at the Baftas, actress Melissa George chose to wear a strong, blue-toned pink lipstick by Lancome, whereas Christina Ricci and Michelle Williams kept things classic with a similar dark red colour. On Tuesday night at our very own awards Christina Hendricks wore an orange-toned red lip colour with a delicate sheen, Pixie went for a matte Pillarbox red to channel (an edgier) Marilyn Monroe, while Florence and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley went with pink lips.

If you want to get the look, pink and red lipsticks suit everyone you just need to find the right shade for you. When you put your chosen lipstick on (a make-up less face) your skin’s flaws are diminished and your complexion looks brighter you’ve found a winner.

So which lipstick shade do your prefer pink or red, and who do you think looks best in our gallery?
