Christopher Decarnin has brought a distinctly modern vibe to French fashion house Balmain – and celebrities have taken notice. His crystal embellished military jackets, skinny stonewash jeans and bandage dresses have become the most sought after – not to mention most expensive - pieces of the season, combining couture cuts with rock and roll edge and the spirit of 1980s excess. Beyonce Knowles, Gwyneth Paltrow and Jennifer Connolly are just a few of the celebrities that have snapped up pieces from the s/s09 collection (even Michael Jackson , the original inspiration for the look, is a fan!), making Balmain the go to label for high-glamour red-carpet looks.
