#ELLEINIBIZA: Day 4

Despite the long day and night of dancefloor-hopping behind us, we leapt out of bed bright and early on Tuesday, excited for the day of luxury that awaited us.

After a rejuvenating breakfast on the beach at Ushuaia (bottles of champagne are part of the breakfast buffet, and the fruit juice comes fuelled with Red Bull - these guys don't mess about) we dressed in our finest Agent Provocateur bikini, a suitably wispy maxi skirt from April, May and our biggest, blackest shades from Elizabeth and James, ready to head out on a speed boat with luxury concierge company El Colo Ibiza.

-----------------------------------

-----------------------------------

El Colo has all the important contacts on the island so whatever you want, from chefs to sound systems - no matter how ludicrous your request - they'll sort it. We tried to press El Colo's Emma on the outlandish requests of previous celebrity clients, but she was far too professional to spill. So instead we contented ourselves with providing our own outlandish requests: ice cold rose served by a dashing Kiwi on a glossy British speedboat please. El Colo came through.

There's nothing quite like speeding through turquoise waves, soaking up the sunshine and waving nonchalantly to fellow boating types across the water (they're not to know that you don't actually own the boat. Just be sure to dress like you do). A visit to Formentera is a must if you're travelling to Ibiza and though you could get the ferry, a private boat is an expense you won't regret.

-----------------------------------

-----------------------------------

Formentera's sea is bluer than Ibiza's, its sands whiter, its restaurants more eye-wateringly expensive. But luckily we've found a brand new spot that thankfully doesn't feel the need to charge €25 for a half an avocado starter, but where the good is every bit as good - if not better - than some of its fellow island eateries. Beso Beach was opened last year by the divinely chiselled ex model Miguel, who also runs a boat charter company in Ibiza. It's a laid-back, bohemian kind of spot populated by Miguel's model friends, some fashion types and the odd DJ taking the opportunity to sink their toes in the sand while sampling some of the island's finest paella. Apparently the party gets going here at sunset, when the footballers and celebrities come out to play, but we had a boat to speed on so we didn't delay

-----------------------------------

Back on the firm Ibiza soil, we packed our bags and headed for the north of the island to enjoy some much needed R&R. The north of the island is sleepier and in many ways more sophisticated than the south, and this is exactly what we found when we checked in for a late, light dinner at the zen-like Giri Cafe. Overlooking a quiet square in the village of San Juan, this is where to book if you're looking for a romantic evening and some spectacular food. Scallop tartar served on zingy slices of lime, slow-cooked lamb cutlets and ... are just a few of the treats imagined by head chef Javier, who was poached from a restaurant in Barcelona to bring his culinary flair to Giri, and frankly there's nothing else quite like it on the island.

-----------------------------------

-----------------------------------

Our last night was spent about as far away from the craziness of Ushuaia as you could get, in the quiet confines of beautiful Can Curreu. One of the island's most understatedly opulent boutique hotels, its whitewashed buildings and bouganvillia-shaded chilling areas invite pure relaxation. The hotel owns several horses for those that fancy exploring the island on hoof, and the spa and wellness centre is exactly where people with party-tired feet should retreat to for complete restoration.

Needless to say, we had the best night's sleep of our trip in its deliciously silent El Reposo room. Nine solid hours meant we'll return from #ELLEIBIZA2013 almost human.
