Between the torch’s slow journey to the Olympic Park, front pages filled with immigration-queue doom, and US lawmakers’ seeming inability to comprehend the basics of globalisation, it’s understandable that collective sentiment about the Olympics seems less than gold-medal shiny.

But reason to be joyful has arrived thanks to Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley. The comedy team behind Absolutely Fabulous has reconvened for a new episode celebrating—and sending up—Olympic fever.

Plot details are few, but according to the BBC website, Edina forgets that the Games are about to begin, ‘until it gets her closer to her idol’, whomever that may be. Cue jokes about the ineffectiveness of sports bras, un-sporty clumsiness, and even a unique repurposing of the Olympic flame.

Avowed fan Stella McCartney makes an appearance too, lending Olympic credibility to a blissfully irreverent TV event.
