The fashion designer racked up another reason to rejoice yesterday, when the Queen herself presented Temperley with an MBE for her services to fashion.
Temperley wore a toreador-style trouser suit from her A/W '11 collection, along with a black-and-white blouse from her Cruise collection.
Despite appearing unruffled, Temperley admitted that the gravity of the event upended her intentions to follow palace etiquette.
'Unfortunately, I walked away without curtseying, which is annoying,' she told the Press Association.
After the MBE ceremony, staff welcomed Temperley back to her Notting Hill HQ with a surprise party. The only thing sweeter than palace honours? Palace honours, followed by Union Jack cakes from the Hummingbird Bakery, of course.
