Jolie wore a gown by Jenny Packham , one of Kate’s favourite designers, to the Screen Actors Guild Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday night.
The black backless halter gown may have showcased Jolie’s tattoos—very un-Middletonian, that—but the jersey fabrication and the draped cut brought to mind a number of the Duchess’s Issa gowns.
Or perhaps the admiration goes the other way around. In November 2011, Kate wore a dove grey one-shouldered Packham gown to a charity dinner in London. Jolie chose a red version of the dress for the premiere of The Tree of Life in LA in May, six months earlier.
