Its been a while and boy, weve missed him but Benedict Cumberbatch is finally back from the nearly-dead, in Sherlock: Season 3.
Yes, thats right spoiler alert he survived the fall from the top of a building at the end of Series 2 in 2012. Co-creator Stephen Moffat hinted earlier this year at how Sherlock lived to solve another crime: 'He cunningly avoided the pavement that really is the only way to avoid dying. There's only a limited number of ways he can do this. He's got to interrupt his fall before he hits the pavement.'
The trailer gives away no further clues as to how he cheated death, but it does make clear that Sherlocks talents are now needed to tackle an immanent terrorist attack on London. Sherlocks brother Mycroft, played by co-writer Mark Gatiss, appears in it too, as does Louise Brealey as Molly Hooper, and of course Martin Freeman as John Watson.
So the dream team is back together all we have to do now is wait until 1 January to see the first episode in the three-parter. Roll on 2014!
Oh, and if you are that impatient, a mini episode will be aired on Christmas Day.
