Would you like a spritz of eau de editrix? Carine Roitfeld is working on a fragrance launch, and the former French Vogue editor already has a name for her signature scent: Forgive Me.

Roitfeld secured a trademark for a fragrance and full beauty product range attached to the name in January, Fashionista reported.

Although the New York Post speculated that the scent could feature ‘notes of sweet vengeance and the tears of underage models’, Roitfeld may face some opposition on her march toward the beauty counter—another party filed a ‘notification of possible opposition’ to her registration of the trademark in mid-October.

What we really want to know is, why is she asking our forgiveness? For looking so hot in pencil skirts and aggressive heels, and being a grandmother at the same time? For giving us whiplash with her lightning-fast moves all over the publishing world, from Vogue to CR Fashion Book to Bazaar? Or is the apology linked to the smell of the forthcoming fragrance?

Either way, watching Roitfeld build a beauty range on the basis of her trusty kohl eyeliner alone will be fascinating to see. And to smell, we’re sure.
