As if life wasn’t hectic enough right now for the Beckhams, David will add another string to his career bow in September with the opening of his first venture with business partner and close friend Gordon Ramsey.

The eaterie, called Union Street Café, will open near London’s foodie paradise Borough Market in September.

‘We’re really excited to be opening Union Street Café in September and it’s great that David wants to come on board,’ said Ramsey as he unveiled plans to press yesterday.

‘We’ve been working on the new site, which is near Borough Market, for the past couple of years and the amazing large warehouse space will offer quality Mediterranean-influenced food with a daily changing menu.’

The cuisine will be a welcome change for David, who by then will have doubtlessly become accustomed to French gastronomy having seen out his recently-signed five-month deal with Paris Saint-Germain.

The unveiling of the Union Street Café plans is the latest in an impressive number of business announcements for brand Beckham. In addition to David’s signing, Victoria – who stars on the cover of the new-look edition of March ELLE – has announced plans to launch a new archive fashion line, Icon, and is busily preparing for her upcoming two shows during New York Fashion Week.

Fortunately, neither has an aversion to putting in the hours.

‘I have a good work ethic; David has an incredible work ethic,’ Victoria told us. ‘I want my kids to have a good work ethic. I believe you can achieve anything if you work hard enough to get it.’
