The Duchess of Cambridge handled her first solo official royal engagement on Wednesday evening.
Catherine wore a vintage dove grey Amanda Wakeley evening gown with a diamond earring and bracelet set to host the reception for In Kind Direct, a charity that redistributes surplus goods to UK charities abroad.
The Duchess has worn Amanda Wakeley designs in the past, most recently to the opening of the new cancer unit at the Marsden Hospital.
‘We were delighted that the Duchess was able to step in at such short notice after our founder was unexpectedly called away,’ In Kind Direct Chief Executive Robin Boles said. ‘The Duchess hosted a very special evening with absolute professionalism and charm.’
The Prince of Wales had planned to host the event, but was called to Riyadh to present condolences to the Saudi Royal Family on behalf of the British Royal Family following the passing of Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
