At ELLE we are in the unique position of being able to push boundaries, to challenge the norm and be unpredictable, says ELLE editor-in-chief Lorraine Candy in her Editors Letter for our June issue, which is on sale now. A fashion magazine is as much about attitude as it is content, and this means we are curious and questioning of the world around us. Which is why this month I decided to give Miley Cyrus her first British ELLE cover.
The reaction when we had when we revealed said cover last week was a definitive indication that the rest of you are as intrigued as we are by the phenomenon that is Miley Cyrus. Shes been photographed by Jan Welters across 10 pages of the issue, and opens up about everything from her dogs to her engagement to talking hair with Dolly Parton in her most revealing UK interview, with Janice Turner, yet.
Of course, theres a whole lot else to love in this months ELLE not least the free Benefit Theyre Real! mascara were giving away with each issue.
In fact, its a bumper issue, beauty-wise: get genned up on the cult new labels to know, find out what Kate Moss packs in her holiday beauty bag and find out what happened when Team ELLE swapped hair colours. (You can imagine the squeals in the office.) Plus, guru Lisa Eldridge tells us how to get the perfect festival look.
Planning a holiday? Our fashion director Anne-Marie Curtis tells you how to pack a suitcase, and its an Ibiza takeover in our travel section this month.
Elsewhere, ELLE meets Sasha Grey, the unrepentant porn star, for a disarming take on modern feminism we guarantee youll be talking about all month and 14 of our favourite writers among them Lionel Schriver, Arianna Hugffington and Giles Coren write their own obituaries. Funnier than you could imagine.
