Bradley Cooper + Ryan Gosling. Need we say more?
If you thought Ryan Gosling was sexy in Drive, get a load of him in The Place Beyond the Pines.

We first meet his leather-clad motorbike stunt driver Luke at a dusty carnival.

Fresh from wowing his fans, he bumps into former flame Romina (real-life girlfriend Eva Mendes).

He eyes her with that laconic, enigmatic yet ever-so-slightly-loved-up look. She knows he’s trouble. Again.

Discovering Romina has had his child, Luke vows to provide: by robbing banks. Soon he’s locking horns with a cop, Avery (Bradley Cooper) – a man whose quiet home life with wife Jennifer (Rose Byrne) is the polar opposite of Luke’s.

The unexpected follows as the two men’s stories interweave, taking us on a fascinating journey that looks at crime, ethics, love, loss and more.

It’s a brilliant follow up to director Derek Cianfrance’s Blue Valentine: equally brilliant, slightly less depressing, and this time with added Bradley Cooper.
