She's a better woman that any of us: former Elle cover star, Emma Watson was charming and chatty at far-too-early o'clock this morning, talking to Radio One's Nick Grimshaw about her new film – The Perks of Being a Wallflower – which premieres tonight. Jetlag was on her side, she claimed, saying, ‘I’ve been up since four this morning’.

An army of Watson superfans camped out over night next to the Radio One building in the rain, a fact which Emma took in her stride, until Grimshaw pointed out that one of them had a tattoo of her: ‘Oh my goodness, they don’t do they?’

Emma talked about the awkwardness of being papped on a bad hair day – ‘I look like a boy! It’s so unflattering, I look like Justin Bieber’ – as well as the hardest things about filming Perks Of Being a Wallflower: ‘There’s a point in the film where I grab Logan’s [Lerman] hand and make him feel my breast. That was really awkward and now I can’t watch that.'

Asked if she was looking forward to the premiere tonight, she said, ‘[The experience] is full-on. It’s very intense. You just have to treat it a bit like an out of body experience, to be honest. It’s a very surreal hour or two, and then it’s back to real life. The nice thing is, after Harry Potter, nothing can ever be as scary and crazy as that. Nothing can ever be as mental.’
