E.L James's best selling erotic novel, Fifty Shades Of Grey, has been getting readers excited since it was published in the summer of last year, but a rumoured film adaptation is sure to set pulses racing even higher as Ryan Gosling has been singled out as a dream candidate for the main character.

Iconic novelist Bret Easton Ellis (who wrote American Psycho) is apparently working on a script adaptation of the bondage novel and has tweeted his thoughts for the team he would like to help bring the project to life, saying “In a perfect world it would be Ryan Gosling as [titular character] Christian Grey.”

Also on Ellis’ dream list are David Cronenberg to direct (who makes Robert Pattinson man up in this month’s Cosmopolis) who he has worked with previously, and Scarlett Johannson as Christian Grey’s submissive lover Anastastia Steele.

The film rights of the novel have been bought by Universal/Focus so an adaptation is inevitable, but who do you think should play the main cast members?
