Hollywood can’t get enough of 16-year-old Chloe Moretz, and neither can we.

She scooped the Future Icon award at the ELLE Style Awards back in February and when she’s not being fierce on screen as Hit-Girl or Carrie she’s stepping out in Simone Rocha, Christopher Kane and Stella McCartney. Which is amazing.

ELLE met Chloe ahead of the release of Kick–Ass 2.
You look great - what are you wearing?
Viktor and Rolf with Chanel shoes. [Puts on posh English accent] very fancy, very fancy.
What did you think of Kick-Ass 2 when you saw the finished film?
I loved it. It was a lot darker than I expected it to be and more violent but it's exactly how the film should have grown up, it’s bigger and crazier – everything is more immense.
Mindy has a spot of high school angst in this movie. Do you relate?
I don't relate to her in that way, no. Growing up in Hollywood I think I've actually had a greater childhood. I've been able to live in London for three years, go to Berlin, Bora Bora – all these crazy locations – and I'm only 16.
Do you ever feel like you've missed out?
No. Going to premieres, that's my prom night. Being able to dress up and be with the people that support me and talk about the stuff I love – that's what I love doing.
Mindy also discovers boy bands in Kick-Ass 2. Do you like boys in bands?
What I find attractive is someone who isn't fluffy and pretty but who knows what they're doing and what they want.
If you could keep one item of clothing from the film, what would it be?
I kept the whole Hit-Girl costume! But if I had to choose it would be the utility belt that says HG and all the gadgets, that's the fun stuff.
Do you wear it at home?
No, that would be weird, walking around my house, my mom saying, ‘What are you doing? Take it off!’ It's really sweet though – I have the old costume and the new costume and I lay them next to each other and the old costume is like a baby, so cute!
Do you find there are many more roles to audition for as you get older?
Yes. When I was 14 it was 100% harder than it is now. There are like two scripts a year for a 14-year-old and most of it's about a kid who's super angsty. You have to fight to the death for a role.
Any plans to become more involved with movie production?
It's looking that way. It's very much a male driven business. Heads of studios are usually men and they like to listen to men more than women but when you are a producer you have the power to be taken seriously.
What next acting-wise?
I'm doing a lot of personality-driven movies, not pure spectacle. I've got Carrie coming out at the end of the year and I'm doing a movie with Denzel Washington called The Equaliser.
Kick-Ass 2 is out Wednesday 14 August.
