Florence Welch has enlisted the direction of David LaChappelle for the music video to 'Spectrum', the fifth single from her Ceremonials album.

LaChappelle is famous for his lavish photo shoots and has photographed many of the world's famous faces from Mariah Carey to Liv Tyler to Kirsten Dunst, in extravagant, brightly coloured settings.

In the slick music video, Welch performs within a setting as elaborate as you would expect for one of LaChappelle's shoots with glittering crystals and lashings of gold paint. Choreographer John Byrne (who LaChappelle used to date -- 'The romance didn’t last, but the two have continued their relationship through art,' said The New York Times) produced routines for a company of ballet dancers to cavort to – including a mini redheaded member who reflects Welch herself.

'It was a complete dream to work with David LaChapelle. I collected his books as a teenager, and I fantasised that he would direct the video for 'Spectrum' from the moment the song was written,' Welch told Digital Spy, clearly overjoyed at the partnership.

The video has been released on the same day that hits cinemas – the soundtrack of which, coincidentally, features Florence And The Machine's 'Breath Of Life'.
