The singer signed a deal to license a fragrance with Coty Beauty in September 2010 . Now, WWD suggests that she has a less-than-flowery name in mind for her Franken-scent: she may call it ‘Monster’.
The name has a certain ring to it. Not for Gaga any earnest talk about how ‘certain chord combinations inspire different feelings in the listener’ (thank you, Shakira), or pretensions of a nose straight out of Grasse. Instead, she’s turning the name of her scent into a tribute to her Little Monster fan base and her often extra-human-seeming live act.
Then again, would a name like ‘Princess Pretty Perfume’ suit a tonic promised to smell of ‘blood and semen’?
We thought not.
