Yes, we were surprised too - the classic Italian label seems an unlikely choice for the pop phenomenen, but apparently Armani says 'she is a modern fashion phenomenon' whose music 'is like a soundtrack of our times', and was thrilled to create a series of outfits especially for her.
First up was a lilac structured dresssurrounded by glittery boning which she wore over a crystal-covered body suit. Then she changed into a sculptural green leotard complete with serious power shoulders for her on-stage performance. By the time she picked up her first award she had swapped it for a short silver number teamed with a lighting bolt head-piece. And finally she channelled Ziggy Stardust in a winged silver crystal jacket and pink make-up around her eyes.
She definitely gets full marks for effort.
