FAME! MONEY! POWER! FAMILY! MURDER!
The trailer for the TV film chronicling Donatella’s reign at following the tragic death of her brother in 1997 has been released.
Since we first discovered such a film was going in to production we were in two minds: it could be brilliant or THE VERY WORST THING EVER.

Having seen the trailer, we're still ambivalent…

Actress Gina Gershon does a solid impression of super-glam, powerhouse Donatella and the film could actually be an entertaining imagining of the fashion brand’s tumultuous history of tragedy and triumph - but we remain suspicious that they've crammed all the juicy bits into the trailer.

That said, Gershon as Donatella mincing along and responding to gawking onlookers with: 'It's Versace ladies. Why don’t you go by the store, your husbands will be happy,' has convinced us to tune in for the full show.
The film - created by American broadcaster Lifetime and based on Wall Street Journal reporter Deborah Ball’s book House of Versace: The Untold Story of Genius, Murder, and Survival previews in the US on 5 October.

Reportedly, Donatella is displeased. The fashion house commented: 'Versace has neither authorised nor had any involvement whatsoever in the forthcoming TV movie about Mrs Versace. Since Versace did not authorise the book on which it is based, the movie should only be seen as a work of fiction.'
