has instigated a special project in celebration of the brand's iconic monogram – and trust us, this is going to be huge.

The house has recruited six renowned 'iconoclasts', comprising Karl Lagerfeld, Christian Louboutin, Cindy Sherman, Frank Gehry, Marc Newson, and Rei Kawakubo, to rework its beloved monogram in honour of its 160th anniversary.

Each designer will put their own personal spin on the signature LV logo for a collection of limited edition bags.

The requests were put out by Louis Vuitton's executive vice president herself, Delphine Arnault – who collaborated with LV's Nicolas Ghesquière to decide which designers they wanted to approach.

Arnault says, 'We were interested in people who work with their minds and their hands...This is a group of geniuses.'

The limited edition bags will be available in selected Louis Vuitton stores worldwide from mid-October.

Congratulations, Dr Louboutin
