Kate Middleton is due to give birth in July, it has been confirmed.

The official statement from St James' Palace, issued at 11am today, reads: ‘Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to confirm they are expecting a baby in July.

‘The Duchess's condition continues to improve since her stay in hospital last month.’

The confirmation puts Kate, who made a high profile public appearance last week at the unveiling of her first official portrait, at 13-14 weeks pregnant and suggests that she has now had her critical 12-week scan.
