Kate Moss made it two nights of fashion partying on the trot as she made it along to the opening of the new Leon Max store in West London on Friday.
It's the first Leon Max store in London, and the American designer’s pulling power was enough to draw many of the guests from Moss’ book launch on Thursday night out of their beds and hangovers, and into the glitzy surrounds of the Lonsdale Road store.
Among the guests celebrating the launch were Kate Moss, Kristen McMenamy and Cara Delevigne with the guest performance by The Kills.
Leon Max isn't a newcomer to the world of fashion. His brand is dating back to 1979 in US and now it's UK's turn to welcome him.
'I am an American designer, but I have a house here where I live part of the year,’ explained Max, whose English residence is an enormous stately pile called Easton Neston, where he has been known to throw extravagant parties. The collections he designs are perfect dress-up material for his glittering guests.
‘There are two collections,’ he told us, ‘One is called Max Studio and the other is under my own name - Leon Max. These collections are very feminine and are something that I would like my friends to wear.'
One such friend of the Russian-American is supermodel Kristen McMenamy, who had turned up to show her support of the designer: 'I saw Leon Max’s look book and was impressed with the affordable prices. I am so sick of designers charging £2000 - 3000 for a simple dress. And here is the guy who has beautiful clothes that are affordable and are of good quality.’
Perhaps an eveningwear revolution is nigh in London? As the guests sipped cocktails and nibbled on fresh oyster, draped in slinky Leon Max gowns and accessorised with artful furs, we seemed to be a million miles away from London, but the view wasn’t so bad.
